Thing #12 - NetLibrary

I've been using NetLibrary for some time now. It is really easy and convenient to use. It's really worth having a NetLibrary account in those instances when you cannot find the book you are looking for checked in the Library or if the Library is closed. You can set up a NetLibrary account at the Library then use your login and password at home thru the OCL website and check out your book to read on line.

Thing #11 - Librarything

I like the way librarything pulls up a picture of the book you enter. It's pretty cool the way the tags let you know the subject matter of the book you may interested in reading.

Thing # 8 - RSS

I liked using RSS because it gives you the most up to date articles on the periodicals that I am most interested in.

Thing #10 - Technology

Young people and cell phone use

I have a 21 yr old daughter and a 15 yr old son. They both have cell phones like millions of other young people.
I have observed that text messaging with cell phones has somewhat replaced instant messaging with this group of individuals.
This behavior can take place anywhere and at anytime. The most bizarre behavior I have seen so far has been bowling with one hand and a cell phone in the other.
It seems that these small devices have evolved into an extension of their hands.

Thing # 6 - Cynthia, Tina & Jackson Quilt

Cynthia (on the left in the yellow shirt) is the patron who designed and created our center square of the Jackson Library Quilt. She spent about 60 hrs working on this square for us. Thanks Cynthia!

This picture was downloaded from the new camera the Friends of the Jackson Library donated.

It was really cool using Flickr.com to upload this picture from my cell phone. This really is a great tool. I can take a picture with my camera phone and upload it to flickr.com and send it to whoever I want.

Tina's Blog

The Jackson Library has a group of women from the community who love to quilt. They are currently working on 2 children's quilts to be hung up in the Library. I will post the pictures when we finish the front of the quilts.
